Life Lately

Happy new year, friends! It's less than a week since the calendar changed, so I vote that it still counts.

For those of you that are still hanging around, thanks for your patience. I have yet to get to get on board with pre-scheduled posts so I write when I can write (a function of inspiration and time) and don't when I don't. As I've been more out than in recently, the "don't" has become more of the norm....which is a norm that I'm working on changing.

Once my pictures finish uploading, I'll add them into this post. Until then, know that beyond the day job, I've been learning how to change a flat tire (at 1:30am in -3*F weather on NYE/Day/whatever 1:30am on January 1st is considered, no less), walking on water (it's a Minnesota thing), going on a  non fiction reading bender, acquiring coveted concert tickets, and loving spontaneous runs with friends. Things really have been pretty great.

Here are the links for the week:

A much-needed conversation on slut shaming spurred by this vlog. There have been lots of interesting  responses to the original vlog--Laci Green's was one of the most thoughtful ones I saw. Thoughts?

Book recommendation: In Pursuit of Silence: Listening for Meaning in a World of Noise. I picked this up at my favorite local bookstore, read it twice (twice!) over my holiday break, and plan to tell everyone I know to read it. I'm starting with you.

Happy Sunday!
